Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries
Okay, have you ever had one of those days where you’re just craving something salty, crispy, and comforting—but you also want to pretend you’re eating healthy? Yeah, same. That’s exactly how these Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries came into my life.

I was standing in my kitchen, hangry, staring at a sweet potato like it had personally offended me… and then I remembered the air fryer sitting on my counter, begging to be used for something other than frozen nuggets.
Let me just say: these fries? Game. Changer.
They’re everything I want in a snack—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and seasoned with that perfect balance of garlic, dill, and paprika. They feel fancy, like something you’d get at a cute brunch café, but they’re actually super easy to make. Plus, you can whip them up in 30 minutes and they’re naturally gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan—basically everyone’s invited to the snack party.

Ingredients:
- 4 medium sweet potatoes (I like using the deep orange ones—they’re sweeter and roast up beautifully)
- 2–3 tablespoons olive oil (enough to coat, but don’t drench them!)
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon dry dill
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste (don’t be shy with the salt—fries deserve seasoning!)
Let’s Get Into It:
1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (about 3–5 minutes). Yes, preheating matters here!
2. Wash and peel your sweet potatoes. I know, peeling is annoying, but trust—it makes the fries crispier. Then slice them into thin, even strips. Not wedges. Strips. We want max crisp factor.

3. Toss them in a bowl with olive oil, garlic powder, dill, paprika, salt, and pepper. Get in there with your hands and mix it all around until every piece is coated. (If it smells amazing already, you’re doing it right.)

4. Work in batches. Spread the fries in a single layer in the basket. Overcrowding them is a betrayal of crispiness, and we do not stand for soggy fries here.

5. Air fry for 12–15 minutes, flipping or shaking the basket halfway through. They should come out golden and slightly charred at the edges (that’s where the magic lives).
6. Repeat with the rest of your batches while trying not to eat them all before the second batch is done (been there).
7. Serve hot! I love dunking these in a garlicky aioli, chipotle mayo, or even plain ol’ ketchup. You do you.

Ingredients
Method
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
- Wash and peel the sweet potatoes, then cut them into thin, uniform strips.
- Place the sweet potato strips in a large bowl and add the olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, dry dill and paprika. Toss until the sweet potatoes are evenly coated.
- Divide the seasoned sweet potato strips into batches and place them in the air fryer basket in a single layer, without overcrowding.
- Cook the sweet potato fries in the air fryer for 12-15 minutes per batch, shaking or flipping halfway through cooking, until they are crispy and golden brown.
- Repeat with the remaining batches of sweet potato fries.
- Serve the sweet potato fries hot, with your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!
These fries have become my go-to when I want something cozy but still colorful and nutrient-packed. Sweet potatoes are full of vitamin A and fiber, but honestly, I’m here for the vibe. They’re a little sweet, a little savory, and 100% addictive.
Make these for your next movie night, study break, or let’s-be-honest dinner (because sometimes fries are the main course). You won’t regret it.
Enjoy!
